Here is a note from Maxx about creating this poster:
“10 years ago I was asked if we would like to submit some logo designs for our friends band. I was so excited at the opportunity not really thinking of what was to be. The blink-182 smiley face is one one of my most favorite pieces that I designed. I am so thankful to Travis and the band for allowing me to work with them on this icon. The album that they created at that time is still one of my most favorites to this day. Congratulations for such an epic journey! And thank you again for allowing me to be apart of this history. Thank you to Chris for all your help and strong support through the years! Here is the poster I designed for the anniversary show at the Palladium this past November 6th. Hope you enjoy” -Maxx242

We’re very excited about this new Jason Gallo Giclée! Going on sale tomorrow, August 31st at 12PM noon PST! This Giclée is printed on high-quality archival paper, measuring 14″ x 20″ and is a signed and numbered edition of 50 prints.
Jason began learning the art of tattooing in late 2003 and has continued to work in several Inland Empire tattoo studios. Since age 13 he has been drawing and painting as his primary outlet and has continued his art education throughout his life both inside and outside of the classroom. The goal of such is merely an overall understanding of his personal artistic voice through versatility and balance of his chosen mediums of expression.
Most of his days are spent tattooing, but Jason is also a freelance designer who has done work for companies such as ODM and Famous Stars and Straps among others. His paintings have been shown in several group shows in California and just recently in Tokyo, Japan where he tries to visit annually in order to absorb more art and popular culture. Jason currently resides in Riverside, Ca and works full time at Fighting 4 Dreams Studios alongside friends and fellow artists Maxx242 and Jeff Soto. Though it is said often amongst artists of every kind, but for Jason Gallo, art and tattooing is his life and passion ever focused on bettering himself each day.
With just ten days left until Jeff Soto solo exhibition, the F4D family couldn’t be happier! Jeff will be exhibiting new paintings over at Jonathan LeVine Gallery NYC for all art fanatics to enjoy! His show will be a continuation of his 2010 New York exhibition- Life Cycle. “Works in Decay and Overgrowth deal with the passage of time, early man, and life after death; as well as primitive myths and legends attempting to explain the unknown” Jeff stated. This is one exhibition you wont want to miss!
Details: Jonathan Levine Gallery 529 w 20th Street, 9th floor NewYork, NY 10011. Exhibition will run from September 8 to October 6, 2012.
The Pearl Jam Vs. Series Copenhagen
Poster art: MAXX242 vs. Todd McFarlane
Comic and music fans, you’re in for a rare and special treat this summer. Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, Pearl Jam, and Illustrator/Designer for Famous Stars and Straps (FSAS) Maxx Gramajo (Better known as Maxx242), have teamed up to create a highly limited-edition Pearl Jam Concert poster.
There’s only three ways to score one of these amazing posters: at the Pearl Jam Concert in Copenhagen, Denmark July 10th, or online at the McFarlane Toys’ online store (store.spawn.com) or the Fighting 4 Dreams site (f4dstudios.com/store) on July 12th at noon PST! Each poster sold online will be HAND-SIGNED by McFarlane and Maxx242 as well as sequentially numbered (1-200). This 8-color screen print measures 23″ wide X 35″ high and is printed on heavy weight 100 lbs. white acid-free archival paper for long-lasting durability! Only 200 posters are available online.
So here’s the backstory on how this collaboration came to be, remember back in 1998 when McFarlane and Pearl Jam collaborated on the Grammy nominated music video “Do the Evolution”. McFarlane and the Pearl Jam band members had a blast working together and the fans loved the final results. It was voted “Best Video” in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Annual Readers Poll, and in Spin Magazine’s Reader Choice Awards.
Fast forward to 2011, McFarlane and FSAS collaborated on the wildly popular Spawn inspired FSAS apparel line. From this business relationship an artistic partnership was formed between McFarlane and Maxx242, an all-round comic aficionado!
This brings us to 2012 and the most recent collaboration between Pearl Jam, McFarlane and Maxx242. For the Copenhagen concert, Pearl Jam wanted to give its fans something really special and a mega-collaboration between two of their favorite artists was created.
Don’t miss out on a chance to pick up this unique piece of rock and visual history!
All of your “pants falling down issues” are now solved! Well not just yet, but very soon. Here are a few of the work in progress photos that have recently surfaced of Maxx designing the belt buckle that he knocked out for Fourspeed Metalwerks.
